Joining the Boots Commercial team, you will be working with the Senior Supplier Compliance Manager, trading, regulatory, supply and import/export teams and our suppliers ensuring we continue to deliver the great breadth of range we have in our ROI & NI stores and online.

With the impact of Brexit and continuing EU/UK legislative divergence creating barriers, this is a great opportunity to gain a broad knowledge of how our business works, beyond the normal confines of a regulatory/technical compliance role.

About the opportunity:

To interpret and measure these Brexit/divergence barriers, calculating the financial risks and working with the Senior Supplier Compliance Manager to mitigate these risks. To stay abreast of relevant regulatory changes and understanding the impact they may have on both the Boots UK and ROI business for both Boots and Prop brands.

• To help analyse the potential impact of Brexit and EU legislative divergence, such as Cosmetics Responsible Person, Single Plastics, Vitamin D, Titanium Dioxide etc.
• To support the delivery of a supplier portal, ‘vetted’, engaging with and monitoring the successful roll out to all suppliers.
• To support our suppliers through webinars, one to ones and to give regular weekly updates on compliance.
• To support the import/export and regulatory teams in dealing with external agencies, such as DAFM, HSE and DEFRA, pulling out financial and supply impacts on products.
• Identifying with No.7 team future risks/horizon scanning and timescales on EU divergence, UK legislative changes impacting on Prop suppliers/products.

About you:

• Graduate with previous experience in regulatory, legislative or technical compliance is essential. Knowledge of importing/exporting into the EU, would be an advantage but not essential
• Real attention to detail and a desire to get things right.
• Comfortable supporting suppliers and individuals with varying understanding of the subject matter. Patient, yet setting exacting standards and timescales for them to adhere to.
• Ability to feel comfortable in a complex and constantly evolving area and able to understand the key points, make sense of them, step out of detail when needed and to help guide the business on next steps.
• Represent the business in external & internal meetings, with the ability to communicate clearly, often complex work, in a clear concise manner.
