Finance Manager – Inventory and Loss

About the opportunity

Reporting into the Finance Director - Operations, this role is a key member of the finance team helping to ensure the delivery of finance targets in the UK. This role will partner the Retail and Pharmacy Inventory and Loss teams who are responsible for getting the right stock in the right place at the right time and are responsible for all elements of loss, from burglaries, theft, supply chain losses and margin adjustments.
  • Provide financial support to the Inventory and Loss teams, building strong relationships and a thorough understanding of the business and key priorities
  • Financial analysis and strategy support, leading and supporting across a broad range initiatives and key activities to achieve cashflow, improve margin and control costs
  • Ensure robust cost control and inventory management, actively supporting and challenging to achieve in year forecast
  • Month end review – working with the Operations and Commercial FP&A and Controls teams to ensure that forecasting, costs and balance sheets are accurate and monthly review packs are well articulated
  • Investment support – reviewing and approving investments within delegated authority, ensure that budgets and forecasts are on track, holding the business to account
  • Budgeting and long-range planning – working with the business and FP&A to formulate and rationalise the budgets and 3YP for the function

About you

A qualified finance professional (CIMA, ACA, ACCA) with related finance business partnering experience and the ability to work and communicate effectively with key individuals of all levels across the business. You will need to demonstrate:
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships
  • Ability to manage competing priorities
  • Strong commercial awareness and analytical skills, attention to detail, quality in all reporting
  • Ability to influence and engage non finance community
  • A good knowledge of Excel and strong SAP skills would be advantageous
