Imports & Exports Manager

We are looking for an international logistics expert to oversee our import and export movements and manage both the performance and project agendas of our supply chain partners. We are looking for someone passionate about the global shipping industry, how goods get to and from global markets and are constantly looking for ways to optimise our supply chains through efficiencies, cost reduction and digitalisation.

About the opportunity

The Imports & Exports team is a shared service function in No7 Beauty Company Supply and we manage the international movement of goods for No 7 Beauty Company, Boots UK, Boots Retail Ireland and we also support some of the other entities in the UK group of WBA companies.
The role will report to the Senior Manager – Imports & Exports and you will be managing a team of six people.

We are looking for someone who is able to:
• Manage the transport operations for both imports and exports engaging and leading our supply chain partners and 3PL’s, managing KPI’s and driving their development agendas
• Work closely with other teams in Imports & Exports (Trade Compliance, Ireland) and major internal stakeholders like WBA Global Sourcing, Boots and No7 Beauty Company Supply teams, Commercial teams and Finance
• To gather information on International Trade issues from external sources, assess their impact on Boots businesses put together action/ mitigation plans
• Provide guidance to the business on best practice and import legislation (Eg incoterms, transit times)
• Lead a team of import and export specialists and support their development

About you
• Our ideal candidate will have experience managing international transport, managing service provider performance and a good understanding of origin operations in South East Asia
• Ideally expertise in understanding imports, exports, customs operations and incoterms
• Have a great network of external contacts in the shipping industry
• Able to demonstrate how they have improved supply chain operations through efficiencies, development initiatives and updated ways of working to maximise cost to serve/ reduce landed costs or reducing complexity in process
• Excellent leadership skills
