As customers are changing, so are we: focusing on really ensuring that we have the best offers available for our customers and have amazing ad hoc events executed brilliantly to drive growth. To support this, we have our core deal change over processes which drive our main value plan as well as various ad hoc projects to support our strategic ambitions which may also require support.

Working in the Promotions & Events team you’ll collaborate with various teams across the business with main stakeholders being in Digital Experience, Pricing & Deals, Store Operations, Supply & Logistics, all eCommerce and Marketing teams and as well as IT.

You will be one of three Assistant Operations Managers within the team, with a lead focus on our regular mass promotional change overs, as well as supporting the day to day activities within the Promotions & Events team.

Due to the requirements of the post, and temporary nature, you will ideally have some existing knowledge & relationships within in order to be effective, quickly in role. You will be involved in everything from leading operational priorities, ensuring the core sales plan is delivered, troubleshooting with technical teams, & supporting ad hoc projects, all with the tenacity & self-motivation to push & work through to a solution which supports our customers and business in the most efficient way.

You’ll will need to have a passion for getting it right for our customers, an eye for detail, and brilliant adherence to processes and ways of working.

Please note: With our website available for customers 24hours a day, working times will vary at short notice and require early (5am starts some days)/late finish times, including some weekend working.

Your Responsibilities:

• To lead the delivery of the core activities within the team focussing on the bi weekly sales plan & daily processes.
• To lead and line manage a team of Digital Operations Assistants in their development, workload and performance.
• To plan effectively & ensure all tasks are delivered accurately, on time and as a team.
• To quickly build relationships, due to the role being fixed term, with other key teams & understand their deliverables, timelines & challenges. These will include digital experience, eCommerce, pricing & deals, marketing & other operational teams.
• To support the requirements from the Digital Operations Manager on projects or ad hoc activities from the wider team, you will need to build relationships with the warehouse, supply, logistics, customer care and retail operations teams also, in order to truly understand the customer journey & impact of any decisions made and be able to effectively engage others when urgent issues arise effecting the customer or the business operationally.
• To provide the Digital Operations Manager and Senior Management information, sharing key activities, issues and trends from any analysis and insights & recommendations on how we can continuously improve our customer offer and ways of working.
• You will be flexible in your approach and workload and be able to manage competing priorities, tasks and manage stakeholders in their requests and escalate effectively in a timely manner where required.

• Is flexible to meet the demands of an online business and ad hoc projects & tasks.
• Will have a drive for accuracy and consistency over speed and be able to identify & put in place any mitigation to sign off promotions with the team through testing.
• Will have existing knowledge and ways of working of or sales plan processes and be able to build on & create new relationships quickly and confidently in order to be effective in role during the short time available.
• Is a self-starter and be able to pull on the resources around you to build knowledge of processes in/outside the team without impacting the day to day delivery. You will be able to reach out to stakeholders in other teams and hold them to account to tight deadlines and escalate where appropriate.
• Will have the tenacity and confidence to troubleshoot and push through solutions which will support our customers, the website or the delivery of a project/task.
• Will have an inquiring mind, be pragmatic, and hold a strong passion for Digital, with a customer first mentality.
• Enjoys and embraces change, and have the personal strength and confidence to ride the highs and lows of a dynamic online business.
• Is able to identify patterns and trends from data reporting, be comfortable to ask questions and challenge the numbers.
• You will need to possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, be confident to lead and work with numerous teams across the business.
• You will be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, as well as technically savvy to use multiple different systems.
• You will need strong numeracy skills, be really comfortable with managing data with the ability to analyse it, understand what it is telling us, socialising the insights with senior management.
• Work to tight deadlines, be able to cope effectively with pressure whilst initiating and responding positively to challenging ideas and pressures to meet the needs and demands of an online business. You will be required to work and make decisions at pace, challenging the status quo.
