Boots Opticians have an exciting opportunity within the Commercial function for a Buyer within the Frames Team. In this role you will work with a global supplier base and be responsible for the delivery of the buying strategy for eyewear, optimising the range for customers and supporting the proposition to drive business performance.

About the opportunity:

As Frames Buyer, you will be part of a dynamic, commercially-focussed team within Boots Opticians. You will be responsible for a vast collection of brands from own label, through to high-end luxury designer. You will be reporting into the Frames Buying Manager and the role would include:

• Range Management – you will have to understand and analyse range performance, have a keen interest in eyewear trends, and recommend improvements.
• You will be a category expert, working with a broad supplier base from global market leaders, to smaller more dynamic suppliers. You will lead new product selections based on customer insight and eyewear trends, and negotiate the best commercial deals.
• You will work cross-functionally to develop and deliver customer-focused category strategies to meet business targets.
• You will not only work to select product for some of the world-renowned brands in our portfolio, you’ll also work with suppliers in the UK and the Far East to develop product for our house brands.
• You will be the first point of contact for suppliers and manage the day to day relationships; assist Buying Manager in supplier negotiations.

About you:

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a track record of building effective working relationships internally and externally.
• Strong analytical skills and experience in using data to make recommendations and commercial decisions.
• Highly organised with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet demanding deadlines.
• Commercially astute, including experience in commercial negotiation, and continually seek to make improvements.
• Proven track record of introducing fresh and innovative ideas.
