The Performance Marketing Analyst is a key role in Boots Opticians Marketing team, responsible for delivering customer insights to our priority business projects, leading the understanding of marketing campaign performance and customer volume forecasting. Through understanding data and marketing performance, you will be the eyes and ears of the business – allowing Boots Opticians to shape its activity accordingly.

The importance of this role is recognised right form the very top of the business – and is supported with links into Data Science, Change Transformation, Customer Marketing and the Advantage Card team. This is an exciting role that will help to shape how the business responds to the new and changing world that we now find ourselves in.

Key Responsibilities:

• To analyse Marketing performance and customer behaviour and the impact on customer volume
• Lead the customer volume forecasting to support the business in critical decision making around capacity management and marketing activity planning
• To provide customer insight and analytical support to the priority Boots Opticians projects
• To understand the e2e customer journey to enable optimisation of all customer touchpoints to deliver incremental value for the customer and business
• Use data and insight to identify new commercial opportunities
• Plan test and learn strategy and deliver reporting to the business.
• Work closely with data and analytics and insights team to understand key customer segments and increase their value.
• Utilising customer data and insight to be the eyes and ears of the business and allow Boots Opticians to set up effectively for the future

A bit about you:

• Able to work at strategic level but also happy to operate in the detail if and when required.
• Experience of existing and emerging Marketing technologies and approaches
• Good understanding of GDPR
• Creative and strategic thinker – energetic and passionate
• Strong communicator – able to engage with multiple audiences
• Collaborator – able to work with the wider Marketing team, Analytics, Product, Compliance and other functions to develop and execute projects
• Ability to understand the needs, techniques and best practice in direct communications including data science techniques and campaign optimisation
• Ability to analyse at a high technical level whilst being able to confidently interpret findings and deliver them to an audience with little or no analytical, statistical or numerical background
• Provide actionable insight and recommendations in the context of direct communications to steer business decisions
• Experience analysing data in relational databases through SQL or similar query tools
• Understand the principles and application of modelling techniques in a customer personalisation environment
• Prior experience with Agile methodology is preferred, but not essential
• Undergraduate degree required
• CIM or related qualifications desirable
