A fantastic opportunity for a qualified solicitor to join the Boots UK Legal team as an Employment Lawyer. You will be joining a close-knit team, reporting to the Assistant General Counsel, that has a varied remit, primarily, supporting the Boots UK & Ireland and Boots Opticians businesses. You will be required to manage employment claims, external counsel and provide solution orientated, risk based legal advice to the business.

Key Responsibilities
• Manage employment claims for Boots UK & Ireland, Boots Opticians and other Walgreens Boots Alliance businesses.
• Manage relationships with external counsel in respect of employment work.
• Provide skilled, timely advice and support in relation to employment and employee relations related matters, to the HR Director, key stakeholders and the wider HR Function in accordance with Boots strategy and its operational and commercial needs.
• Partner closely with the HR Leadership teams to drive best practice, provide solution orientated, risk based legal advice on all aspects of employment and industrial relations laws.
• Provide support to other in-house lawyers in relation to the employment and industrial relations aspects of other transactions, including outsourcing, mergers and acquisitions activity, and TUPE matters.

A bit about you…
• You should be a qualified solicitor or equivalent from another jurisdiction.
• You should have broad experience of employment law matters (including conduct of Employment Tribunals) gained over at least 3 years post qualification experience
• You should have a keen commercial outlook with sufficient technical and business experience to work autonomously in an in-house employment law team.
• You should be an excellent communicator and be able to build strong relationships with a wide variety of internal and external contacts at all levels.
