Market Insight Analyst

An exciting opportunity has arisen in our Market Insights Team working to support Global Marketing and the Boots UK business. Understanding what’s happening more widely in retail and in our markets is more important than ever and that’s where our Market Analysts play a vital role.
We invest heavily in understanding our customers, retail trends and macro-economic factors, be it through sales data, qualitative research, tracking studies, analysis or a vast array of market data. Market Analysts make use of all such sources to fully grasp how Boots and our products are performing –generating and story-telling world-class insights that compel action; working in strategic partnership with the category leaders for our business.

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide regular market and competitor reports on a weekly and monthly basis that are used to shape and drive the wider business performance of Boots UK
• You will become an expert in understanding our market data sources and panel data using the information to drive business strategy
• You will analyse data to ensure accuracy, both internally and externally, and liaise with the relevant teams in the advent of any issues
• Build positive relationships with key partners to advise on the best data solutions ensuring the most accurate view of market performance

A bit about you:
• You’ll be of degree calibre, preferably in a subject with a strong numerical and analytical bias. You will have a problem-solving approach that gets to the underlying business questions
• You will be very skilled in excel, capable of using pivot tables for data manipulation and presentation. Experience of Power BI would be a distinct advantage
• Strong inter personal skills and a willingness to dive in and challenge the status quo are essential to develop key relationships with internal stakeholders and data suppliers
• Proven ability to turn data from many different sources into insights and weave together compelling stories
• Ideally you will have had experience with market data sources (such as IRI and Nielsen), panel data (Kantar/Nielsen) and market intelligence (Mintel/Global Data)
