About the role:

The Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Governance and Compliance Manager is instrumental in helping the organisation to achieve its Corporate Social Responsibility strategy and goals, which focus on the health of our communities and planet. Responsible for the over-arching governance of the CSR processes within Boots UK and embedding a culture of stretching targets, impact measurement and compliance. The role is a key connection with WBA to ensure Boots UK focus areas have alignment with our shared WBA goals and purpose to “help people across the world lead healthier and happier lives”.

Having recently reviewed our CSR focus areas, this is a very exciting time to join the Boots CSR team and this unique role in the business enables people from a background of project management, analysis, finance etc to deliver impact in their role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead CSR governance processes for Boots UK in line with WBA policy; including CSR target setting, governance meetings and progress reporting. Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to drive consistency and alignment between Boots UK, Opticians and ROI
• Ensure compliance with CSR policies; including managing senior sign off for charitable donations and tracking progress vs CSR commitments that Boots UK and Opticians have agreed to meet
• Ensure well-built reporting and data management solutions are in place to provide strategic analytical support for the CSR team and enable us to measure and share the positive impact of CSR activities, especially our charity partnerships
• Responsible for leading annual Boots UK CSR reporting; ensuring the accuracy of any data reported internally or externally; and providing regular high-quality reporting to the Boots UK exec and other key business stakeholders
• Build, maintain and grow networks across Boots and WBA. Connect stakeholders and content from the 4 CSR areas (Healthy Communities, Healthy Planet, Healthy and Inclusive Workplace and Sustainable Marketplace) to bring a cohesive view of CSR activity and enable compelling communications for customers and team members
• Responsible for coordinating and advising on the budget for CSR community work, to enable effective, impactful spend

• Strong numerical and analytical skills combined with excellent communication skills and the ability to prioritise effectively
• Naturally organised, self-starter with exceptional attention to detail and confident in using governance models and reporting models to support good working practices
• Ability to exercise commercial and societal impact balance to support purpose beyond profit for Boots UK
• Ability to influence and demonstrate thought leadership to shape the CSR strategy/agenda for Boots UK using data and insights
• Project or programme management skills are desirable
