Senior Supplier Insights Analyst - Secondment till 1st October 2021

As a Senior Supplier Insight Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in converting business leads, delivering supplier funded insight projects and leading a team that provides customer, product and brand insights for our supplier partners. Through innovative analysis and insight you will work in collaboration with teams across Insights, Marketing and Trading to recommend and influence the future activity of our suppliers and categories.
We work with a variety of sources including data from our Boots Advantage Card holders, which combined with Boots.com and our Viewpoint customer research panel, provides us with unrivalled insight into Health & Beauty customers - generating significant revenue for Boots.

Our ideal candidates will have a mix of commercial understanding, a passion for turning insight into action and strong analysis skills.

Key Responsibilities:
• To be an acknowledged leader on customer insight and be able to provide advice and guidance on best practice approaches
• Act as a key partner to our suppliers, as well as our internal Partnership Marketing and Commercial teams, supporting them to better understand who their customer is and what, when, where and how they are shopping within Boots
• Champion the use of insights to shape and steer data-driven commercial decisions; contribute to the development and implementation of Boots Partnership Marketing Plans, and Customer and Loyalty Strategies
• To be the primary lead on projects, from writing a brief right through to impactful delivery of results and recommendations
• To provide strategic solutions to key business questions through bespoke analysis, presenting the ‘So What’ and using a story telling approach to develop the ‘Now What’
• To manage the successful delivery and development of our reporting commitments for our digital marketing channels with a focus on delivering commercial advantage and driving efficiency
• To oversee the regular maintenance of our processes and tables; coordinating data migrations to new systems / platforms
• To lead the development of your direct reports; demonstrating ability to enhance skills, knowledge and profile through 1-2-1s, role-modelling, mentoring, cross-team initiatives and motivation
• Support the continued development of the broader Commercial and Supplier Insights team; driving the focus on delivering actionable insights that have a commercial impact on the business
• To be a key contributor to the wider analytical community in developing best practice in customer insight management and techniques
Your experience:
• A strong desire to lead and develop the team to use customer insight
• A passion for customer personalisation and the ability to influence customer led activity
• A proven track record in managing stakeholders, influencing and driving business direction and commercial decisions.
• An ability to see the bigger picture: a problem-solving approach that gets to the underlying business questions, using a variety of data sources and information where appropriate
• Excellent communication, organisational and project management skills; ability to handle multiple tasks through managing priorities and workload
• Able to deliver creativity in your analysis, grow this in your team and have a good instinct for the application of customer insight in supplier funded projects
• Experience of analysing large sets of data in relational databases and exposure to a range of analytical tools and techniques, including SQL or similar query tools
• Knowledge of web analytics and/or digital data would be advantageous
• Excellent attention to detail: Advocate “Right First Time” approach through best practices (e.g. code checks, handover documents, etc.) and spot checks
• Experience of presenting recommendations & solutions as well as insights to stakeholders who may not be analytical-minded or data savvy and championing the voice of the customer
• Some experience of working within a retail business environment would be an advantage
