Head of Healthcare Product Delivery - Boots UK

Boots is seeking a consumer focussed, technical product leader to lead the identification and delivery of new health & wellness products for Boots.

Reporting to the Director of Own Brand Product Delivery, this exciting role is accountable for delivering and maintaining a broad portfolio of consumer healthcare products covering multiple conditions and consumer needs. You’ll lead a multidisciplinary technical team and collaborate with external partners and suppliers to identify and commercialise new product opportunities for Boots – a leader in Health & Wellness.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accountable for all aspects of technical product delivery. Uses scientific and technical expertise to translate consumer, market & technology insights into new Healthcare product opportunities for Boots and thereafter ensures delivery of I&NPD pipeline to meet brand/consumer needs and business KPIs (time, cost, quality).
• Leads a multi-disciplinary technical team to successfully manage all aspects of technical risk including navigating legal, quality and requirements
• Accountable for technical leadership of all product delivery activities internally and with the supplier base to create and commercialize a 3 year I&NPD Healthcare pipeline that drives competitive advantage and profitability for WBA
• Ensures all applicable product development, quality and regulatory processes and procedures are embedded within the team
• Builds excellent relationships with internal partners, suppliers, manufacturing partners and regulatory bodies to. Able to engage authoritively on all aspects of healthcare product delivery and build a strong network of contacts
• Ensures the health & governance of the total Healthcare I&NPD pipeline. Engages the organization and supplier base to deliver all plans globally, ensures portfolio best practice covering planning governance, issue and risk management, stakeholder management and portfolio reporting is in place.
• Accountable for technical product approval and release, ensuring availability of all required technical data/master product data in line with internal standards and external regulatory bodies.
• Ensures all appropriate product delivery resources are available to support category 3YP and proposes/facilitates project prioritization/phasing to maximize resource efficiencies within the category. Proposes tradeoff’s/prioritization where necessary, manages a development budget
A bit about you… (max 5 bullet points)
• Healthcare technical leadership - deep knowledge and experience in Healthcare product development within an OTC/pharmaceutical environment (8-10 years) with a record of successfully leading complex healthcare product development/brand launches/programmes
• Proven technical understanding of OTC products and multiple consumer healthcare categories
• Proven commercial acumen and proven track record of identifying the right opportunity, gaining business buy-in and converting this into commercial success
• Proven brand, commercial and end to end supply chain understanding
• Ability to lead, manage and motivate multi-disciplinary technical team
• Proven relationship mgt skills - able to influence and hold to account senior stakeholders both internally and externally
