The role will be responsible for the design and development of the in store environment for fit for purpose. Delivering a great customer experience, which is fit for purpose at the right value. The remit includes everything from store fascia, lighting, ceiling, flooring, to the design of fixtures/fittings and display aids.

Key Responsibilities

• To lead the design development of the customer experience 3D elements, fixtures/ fittings and environment.
• This would involve working with external agencies to take a concept into reality.
• The role would manage this through the design development process, covering reviews of prototypes and ultimately approval to manufacture (initiative release), all the while ensuring key stakeholders are engaged to ensure we’re making the right decisions for the business, customers and brands.
• This role involves cross-functional working, with teams including, Engineering, Merchandising, Trading and Colleague Model, Boots Brand Deisgn Team, Layouts
• To manage critical paths and costs for your projects with your agencies, and link into the wider project team to report back on status and issues.
• To ensure all designs link back to a customer need and work closely with the Boots Brand Design Team to ensure design intent is being maintained throughout the project.
• Programme management - Linkage to Integrated property roadmap and one programme
• Stakeholder management (Internal and External)
• End to end CPA leadership / ownership
• Ensuring business receives all drawings relating to design and development initiative releases.

A bit about you…

• Cross functional working and relationship building with the ability to influence at all levels, and strong communication skills.
• Experience in design processes–managing a concept from creative into reality.
• A technical understanding of different substrates and manufacturing techniques to ensure best value is acheived
• Ability to manage and lead external agencies and brands, with experience in project management.
• Awareness of customer, market changes and industry best practice, and a passion for retail design.
• Experience in managing stakeholder at all levels
• The ability to express ideas through both written and oral communication to either individuals or groups.
• Fixture and fitting knowledge (Boots specific)
• Display aid and show material knowledge
• Materials and manufacturing method expertise
• Value engineering / Best value capability
• Access to specialist trades (e.g. Electrical)
• Contractor management
