The Senior Finance Manager – Financial Control (maternity cover) provides a reliable and timely close process for Pharmacy finance, including journals, accruals, reconciliations, treasury and technical accounting. You will provide accounting advice and guidance to the Pharmacy finance team and ensure adherence to a strong SOX control environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ownership and leadership of month end, quarter end and year end closes whilst adhering with policies and procedures
  • Responsibility for review of journals and account reconciliations together with any necessary investigatory work
  • Ability to challenge and change existing processes and promote automation wherever possible
  • Ownership of internal policy and SOX compliance within pharmacy-related finance processes and controls
  • Lead a small team to continuously deliver to a high standard whilst ensuring the personal development of each team member
  • Responsible for talent management and succession planning within the pharmacy controls team
  • Ownership of the understanding and partnering business on NHS funding and its implications for our accounts, including feeding into monthly forecasting, budgeting and 3YP

A bit about you…

  • A qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with significant post qualification experience and strong technical accounting skills
  • SAP experience is desirable
  • Strong MS Excel skills
  • A good communicator, able to explain complex accounting issues to non-finance stakeholders
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholder across the business and finance
  • Strong understanding of pharmacy-specific transactions and accounting issues
