Overview of the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join one of the most respected, ambitious and dynamic teams in the industry leading the thinking on Procurement strategy and making a difference to the organisation and our customers.
Reporting to the Cross-Divisional Category Director for Marketing & Professional Services Procurement and being part of a high performing team of c.10 Professional Services & Marketing Procurement professionals located in Nottingham and Chicago you will be accountable for providing commercial leadership on your assigned category spend with particular focus on delivering value from our existing strategic partner relationships, developing future partnerships and challenging the status quo.
In this role you will take a leading role in the delivery of projects, initiatives and contract management plans. You will be supported to develop your Procurement career and encouraged to grow and deliver to your full potential.
You will be expected to develop, implement and execute macro level Category and Contract Management strategies.
You will provide commercial leadership to stakeholders up to and including senior Group Executives; interfacing, challenging, developing and nurturing an effective and balanced relationship. You will interface with a range of stakeholders across the Group; drawing on your own and the collective Procurement capability in fully leveraging these relationships.
You will be part of, and expected to play a role in the continuous development of, the Walgreens Boots Alliance Procurement Team to maintain our reputation as a leading Procurement function.
The overriding responsibility is to deliver the best possible value to Walgreens Boots Alliance from 3rd party relationships within the category by:
• Leading the development, implementation and ongoing management of procurement category strategies for Professional Services at a local, regional or group-wide level;• Working with stakeholders (functional, procurement and supplier), to develop strategy and tactics for procurement category and initiatives, providing thought leadership; identifying, creating and implementing initiatives to maximize value and ensure ongoing management of supplier contracts and relationships, and;• Project managing work-streams and initiatives within the category to ensure timely delivery of objectives, ensuring all necessary processes, including formal stakeholder approvals are completed.

• The role faces into a complex organisation with multiple brands and business divisions and our ideal candidate will be used to operating collaboratively within a similarly complex environment.• You will have in-depth Professional Services Procurement knowledge with demonstrable experience of delivering value at pace whilst working on a wide range of categories and projects.• You will have the industry knowledge and category insights to provide knowledge-based challenge to your stakeholders.• You will be commercially astute and adept at applying a variety of commercial approaches to core Professional Services.• You will be used to working in a style that is dynamic & flexible, achieve results at pace and will embrace challenges and change.
