Boots are looking to recruit a talented Solution Architect. The role will form a critical part of our Engineering Function as we continue the design of our Microservices Infrastructure.

Our digital transformation journey is only just beginning; this is a unique opportunity to help design and shape our online retail application that is used by millions of customers who shop online at Boots.com.

Key Responsibilities

• To lead the architecture design within the online retail application that underpins www.boots.com utilising a microservices architecture.
• To work with our Platform Architect and Engineering Leads to design the application; focussing particularly on how the solution will integrate within the brown-field estate as we transition out legacy technologies.
• To work with our Enterprise Architecture Community to ensure product selection and implementation adheres to enterprise and group level standards and patterns.
• To collaborate and work with both the Engineering and Platform leaderships teams supporting and advising as appropriate.
• To guide and mentor other solutions architects.

A bit about you…

• Extensive experience of the Microsoft Azure Cloud Platform and the technologies that underpin it including Kubernetes, Service Bus, Networking, Devops and containerised applications.
• A solid understanding of NoSQL databases including MongoDB and Cosmos.
• Experience of message and event based architectures.
• Knowledge and Experience of N-Tier Architectures and transformation to Cloud Native.
• Experience of ReactJS and NodeJS would be an advantage
• Experience of the C4 Model would be an advantage
