The Senior Digital Designer plays a key role in the Digital Experience team in, responsible for the overall look and feel of day-to-day. This exciting role brings our much-loved and trusted Boots brand to life across our website, and ensures our digital activity is cohesive and aligns with our in-store experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for leading the thinking on how major activities – e.g. Christmas – and new initiatives – e.g. our franchise agreement with Mothercare – are implemented on
• Leads the Boots digital design language and is an expert digital design best practice, working closely with our marketing colleagues to ensure a consistent approach across channels, as well as ensuring the designers in the team are following the guidelines consistently
• Coaching and developing a team of designers to build a strong, unified design team
• Comfortable using data to drive insight, and using this to inform design progression whilst not losing sight of performance considerations
• Working alongside the development UX/UI team to ensure consistent application of design principles, and to influence future design direction

A bit about you…

• Significant digital design experience is required, both UX and UI, as well as the ability to use relevant design tools/packages
• Able to demonstrate a strong track record of improving business performance and customer experience
• Experience coaching and developing junior team members is extremely important
• Comfortable working with agencies (design, digital marketing, direct marketing & SEO are particularly relevant)
• Great communication skills, able to articulate to senior stakeholders the benefits of different design approaches and how they meet business objectives and customer needs
• Able to work to deadlines and coordinate own work with that of others to ensure overall business goals are achieved
IMPORTANT NOTE: This role requires regular working outside normal offices hours. This typically involves working from 5am one or two times a month, occasional weekend working particularly at peak times and occasional overnight working e.g. for major launches. In general you will be expected to be flexible with your working hours to meet business and customer needs.
