It’s been almost three years since I joined Boots IT, and there has never been a dull moment!"
From day one I was given responsibility to introduce a large programme of change, and also got involved in the many activities happening around the department: mentoring, charity work with the ‘Women in IT group’, training courses. Being a French speaker, I even helped a local school organise events to help develop their language skills.
Within a year of joining, I was given a large team to manage. This was a great opportunity to develop my leadership skills. I was also fortunate enough to be put forward for the Boots Leadership Development Programme. This consisted of twelve months of offsite training and studying for a diploma at Nottingham Trent University with twenty other colleagues from across the business. I have now graduated and am busy putting the theory into practice in my new strategic role.
As well as the development opportunities, it is a fun place to work here, with a great working culture.
There are not many companies out there who offer such fantastic events – award ceremonies, team away days and working with charities and in the local community.
Boots UK really does offer a unique balance of challenge and opportunity, especially in IT, with a lot of fun thrown in!
