Trainee Pharmacist
I had a really positive experience on the Boots Summer Placement Programme (SPP), which inspired me to go on the Boots UK Trainee Pharmacist Foundation Year.
From Summer Placement to Trainee Pharmacist

I knew Boots UK would prepare my career as a Pharmacist with a highly reputable standard of training. This would be the platform for me to grow and develop professionally and would open up a wide range of opportunities within this ever-changing world of pharmacy.

Devon and Cornwall are well known for their areas of outstanding natural beauty, and being based in South Devon I was never too far from the coast. The friendly community and the gentle pace of life in this beautiful part of the world really appealed to me. Also it’s close to where I graduated from, University of Bath and there are plenty of job opportunities in this area.

I’ve been able to experience and enjoy a variety of outdoors activities such as kayaking and coastal walks. My pharmacy team and I organised a 13-mile charity walk for Macmillan Cancer Support all the way from Brixham to Torquay and raised around £230.

The Trainee Pharmacist Foundation Year has been of high standard with exceptional support throughout the year. I’ve really developed and enhanced my skills as a Trainee Pharmacist and it’s definitely prepared me for my career. The Trainee Pharmacist training days were fun and inspiring, and also an opportunity to network and share experiences with my peers. The support throughout the year from both my Trainee Pharmacist tutor and teacher practitioner ensured I was on track and made good progress.

Personally, this has been an enjoyable journey and it has broadened my horizons. I’ve had such a positive experience and I am very much looking forward to the start of my exciting career with Boots UK.
