If you’re a new or aspiring Pharmacist, we’ll guide you through the best start to your professional pharmacy career, beginning with placements for undergraduates through to the Trainee Pharmacist programme and into your Newly Qualified year, all supported by our fantastic Healthcare Academy Trainers.
Experienced Pharmacists can also keep their clinical and commercial skills up to date with Continuing Professional Development (CPD) learning and events.
For our Pharmacy Support teams, our regulated and accredited programmes are designed to develop your skills as a Pharmacy Advisor, Pharmacy Technician, or Accuracy Checking Technician, and help you support our customers’ and patients’ changing wellbeing needs.
This is all underpinned by our Pharmacy Services Training, enabling colleagues to provide safe, effective and innovative services.
A variety of learning is available to store teams and leaders to support their development of essential retail skills. From our award winning customer service programme which is recognised and accredited by the Institute of Customer Service to advanced skills in a variety of areas including fragrance, photo and healthcare, you’ll develop the knowledge to give our customers brilliant advice on the products and services we offer.
Designed with care in mind, these programmes cover resilience and wellbeing, coaching, leading a team and much more. Whether it’s digital learning, self reflection, podcasts or even apprenticeships, there are lots of options to develop within our Support Office and Supply Chain.
If you’re on your journey to becoming a qualified Optometrist or Clinician, you’ll be supported by our Pre-registration and Foundation Optometrists programmes, or via our Student Dispensing/Contact Lens Opticians courses (delivered in partnership with ABDO college) to enable you to confidently provide professional care to patients.
Experienced Clinicians will have lots of opportunities to keep your professional skills and knowledge up to date through Continuing Education & Training (CET) and for our Optical Consultant colleagues, the Boots Opticians Optical Skills Training (B.O.O.S.T) provides essential customer service and technical ability to support our customers and patients brilliantly.
As an Opticians Store Leader, you’ll develop commercial leadership skills and a broader understanding of how to lead a team safely and effectively.
Our Leadership programmes will give you the skills you need to delegate and empower, drive productivity, improve performance, and plenty more. Whether you’re a newly appointed leader or stepping into a senior role, training is available to all of our leaders and is easily accessible, delivered both independently and as part of a group.
Our in-role apprenticeships help you gain A-Level equivalent qualifications, right up to Foundation Degree level accreditation. We’ll offer you all the training and development you need to be a strong, capable leader.
As a new Beauty colleague, you’ll receive the best start with a 13-week induction to develop your product knowledge and your ability to offer unbiased advice on all of our amazing brands. But it doesn’t stop there, ongoing training will also cover new brands, products and techniques, as well as an invite to our market leading, 6 monthly beauty conference.
For our No7 team members, you will become experts in No7 products and match made services, as well as having the opportunity to volunteer for additional training to become a Boots Macmillan Beauty Advisor, supporting those who are experiencing visible side effects of cancer treatments.
