West Wales Coast

University town and holiday resort
on the doorstep of Snowdonia:
discover the appeal of
Aberystwyth and beyond...

Why you'll love living here...

  • The university town of Aberystwyth has a large student population. There are lots of bars, clubs, cafes, and shops catering for students, as well as an arts centre, cinema, theatre and the national library - for a small town, there's a lot going on.
  • Aberystwyth is a holiday resort so there are plenty of attractions: castle ruins, a pier, a harbour, a golf course and a Marina. Snowdonia is an hour's drive away so it's a great place to get out and experience nature: whether it's a bracing beach stroll, a mountain hike, cycling, riding, fishing, surfing, windsurfing, wakeboarding or kite-surfing.
  • Affordable property. You can get a good bargain here, especially if you're moving from a big city. That smart seafront townhouse or romantic mountainside cottage could be within reach.
  • Good transport links. Aberystwyth railway station takes you to Cardiff (4 hours) and Birmingham (3 hours), Manchester (4 hours). Links to London are getting better thanks to the development of new Assembly buildings in the area.

Working here

Aberystwyth is home to a Health & Beauty store covering an area stretching west to Llanelli and south to Pembroke Dock. There's a strong support team with a number of dispensers covering care home services and a team of dispensers working in the dispensary.

There are links with Boots stores in Lampeter and Aberaeron. RPSGB local Practice Forums are held at Aberaeron and Lampeter and sometimes in Aberystwyth so pharmacists working in the area can build relationships and call upon one another for support and advice.

What our staff think...

  • "I have only worked for the company for 2 weeks and everyone is friendly and helpful in my new role."

  • "I started as a healthcare assistant and now I am a trained dispenser after only one year's service."

  • "It is important to me to engage with my team both in and out of work."

  • "If you like the outside life there is lots to do in and around Aberystwyth, coastal walks mounting biking and Snowdonia is less than a two hour drives."
