This could be the start of a great career in Pharmacy with Boots. You’ll gain a real understanding of complete care and see how you can have a big impact on people’s lives. You’ll also have the opportunity to build great relationships with the communities you’re part of and with your healthcare peers outside of the business.
If you’re successful in your online application and at the assessment centre - and you secure a Pre-registration place in 2016 with us – you’ll be given the opportunity to take part in our Boots Pharmacist of the Future placement that will take place for 4 weeks over the summer.
The Boots Pharmacist of the Future placement will give you real insight into community pharmacy and into your own skills and areas for development. You’ll work alongside an experienced healthcare team to gain fantastic practical experience and spend time talking to patients and developing the skills needed to give great customer care as a Pharmacist. With a dedicated Pharmacist tutor, you’ll benefit from the support of someone who’s there to help you every step of the way. And there’s more. We give you a student workbook that’s packed full of useful information and eLearning modules that ensure you get as much as you can from this experience.
You’ll also be invited to our dedicated Getting Ready Session which will be on the same day as your assessment, where you’ll find out more about your placement as well as the long-term career opportunities at Boots.
The Boots Pharmacist of the Future placement is not compulsory – but is a great chance to meet the team you will be working with and get to know your area.
We’ll also give you the opportunity to confirm your date preferences over the summer – which include June, July or August 2015 .Your specific start dates will be in your offer email if you are successful with your application and you can speak to your Teacher Practitioner (TP) for more details.
Now where would you like to spend your time? With over 2,700 pharmacies in the UK and Ireland, there’s no need to limit your thinking about where you experience your pre-reg/intern training and placement. In fact, many of our locations are always oversubscribed, while others are far less in demand.
So if you fancy a change of scenery, how about the Cornwall coast? A lake-side view in Cumbria? Or perhaps some time in Gloucestershire?
The more flexible and adventurous you can be with your choices, the better your chances of succeeding in your application.
Don’t miss out on the ultimate pharmacy experience. Applications for the pre-registration/internship training programme open on Monday 5th January 2015. In the meantime, please follow us on Facebook and Twitter where we will give you more details and answer any questions you may have.
