My story is about celebrating our future Pharmacists.

My career at Boots spans over 20 years. I started as a Pharmacist in one of our stores and then moved to the Superintendent Pharmacists Office at our support office and then Learning & Development.

It feels fantastic to be helping our new trainees. They are the future of our pharmacy business and it’s amazing to see the importance the business places on these people.

As part of my role, I organise our annual Pre-registration conference for around 400 trainees. The conference brings together that year’s trainees and our key business leaders to celebrate the success of the trainees over the year. We run group work sessions that give them an insight into other areas of the business. This gives them a chance to meet their peers and helps them to grow and develop and to be more confident in their role.

I get a real buzz when I see the enthusiasm of the trainees. You can see how valued they feelright there at the conference. I get a sense of personal satisfaction in showing them how important they are to Boots. It makes me want to do it again and even better next time.
