"It's really rewarding to feel like you've helped someone"
Name: Raymond
Job title: Team Manager
Qualifications when I started Boots: Studied Computing at University in France
My Career so far: After moving to the UK from France I started working with Boots as a security guard with an external contractor which I really enjoyed. I had the opportunity to work with lots of the team in store and I soon realised that Boots is a great place to work. So I applied and got my first job in operations. I knew there were opportunities for me to progress and so I put myself forward for all the training I could. Thankfully my manager recognised my potential and put me forward for the Stepping Stones development programme. It was hard at first but the team was so friendly and they really helped me.
My typical day: My days are busy and fun. I make sure that the store is ready for trading, stocking and monitoring shelves, helping my colleagues and sorting out their daily tasks, helping with customer enquiries and ensuring we do all we can to ensure we give the best possible customer care and that customers leave wanting to come back.
The best thing about Boots: Helping customers and the people. It’s really rewarding to feel like you’ve helped someone and my role gives me plenty of challenges so I don’t get bored. I’ve made loads of friends here too and there’s a great atmosphere in store.
If you could compare yourself to a Boots product what would it be?
“If I could compare myself to a Boots product it would be a honey and lemon locket because my colleagues think that I’m hard from the outside and soft on the inside.”
Why do you love what you do?
“I love what I do because we have great people working for Boots and we make customers happy every single day.”
I love Boots because…

How do your mates feel about you being on the website?
“They are quite excited. Some think that I may let them down because I’m French and I may mess some words up because of my English language.”
