Management Roles

Boots Opticians is the perfect place to build a career in management. Because we've got such a diversity of practices (from smaller provincial branches to the big city centre practices) you'll find a practice to match your skills and experience, plus plenty of scope to progress.

Clinical Practice Managers

Clinical Practice Managers are both leaders and practising optometrists, contact lens opticians or dispensing opticians - so they never lose sight of our customers. Whether experienced or new to management, they all have ambition, an understanding of their market and the personal skills to get the best out of a team. We match their talent with great support and development.

What you think matters. Elected representatives meet with our Directors on a regular basis to share your thoughts and ideas and turn feedback into action.

Practice Managers

We encourage our Practice Managers to run their branch like it's their very own business.

Here, you're responsible for maximising customer service, sales and profit by identifying and developing the talent you need to deliver the service our customers expect.

You might be a qualified Dispensing Opticians or Optometrists looking to develop your commercial skills. You might be a seasoned retail manager ready to learn about putting patients first. Whatever your background, we'll provide tailored development that helps you become a great all-round leader and to further your career - whether clinically or by moving up the management ladder.

Assistant Practice Managers

As Assistant Practice Manager, you'll support the Branch Manager with anything and everything - from setting high standards of customer care to maximising profitability.

The size of the branch will determine how much you get to experience, but there's one thing guaranteed: this first step into management will be your first step on a successful career path. We'll help you to develop - whether you see yourself becoming a retail manager or a qualified optician.
