An excellent opportunity has arisen to join a fast-growing Regulatory function as the Head of Central Regulatory Services and Registration Operations.
The Central Regulatory Services team provides strategic advice and services to the Boots Retail business to enable and support new product development by providing high quality data packages that are in line with our commercial and NPD strategy.
We're looking for an outstanding Regulatory professional with considerable experience gained within the OTC/Consumer healthcare market to lead this new team and help play an essential role in supporting an ambitious and potentially market changing new healthcare agenda here at Boots.
What you'll do
Reporting directly into the Director of Regulatory Affairs this individual will provide the strategic direction to ensure that the Boots Regulatory Affairs team has a data knowledge and management platform that is appropriate for the size, complexity and maturity of the Business.
In this role your key responsibilities will be:
- Establish and embed the Central Regulatory Services team within the Regulatory function and the wider Boots Retail business
- To lead a small team that provides strategic regulatory advice to the business across a broad range of areas including medicines, food supplements, cosmetics and POM to P switches
- Set up appropriate processes to capture and process information from sources of innovation and use this data to provide a robust regulatory strategy to the project team
- Ensure that all regulatory and technical information is managed appropriately using databases and other IT tools, including registration status and SmPC status by product, by country and formulation
- Provide regular reports to senior management in respect of approvals and the processing status of ongoing regulatory submissions
- Manage vendors and external consultants to ensure that the right capacity and expertise is available to ensure business continuity
- Commission the authoring, review, integrity and coherence of all required documents for core data packages
- Undertake Due Diligence activity on any new external market opportunities and provide documented evidence of findings
- Set up/ manage the primary interface with the NPD process for all regulatory clients e.g. UK and ROI teams – monitoring and reporting against progress for all regulatory submissions ensuring full data integrity is maintained
- Ensure that all 'in country' personnel adhere to timelines for the delivery of core data packages and local submissions
What you'll need
- A significant level of experience in a fast moving OTC environment
- Strong commercial awareness, experience and proven success in a regulatory capacity
- Experience of leading and motivating teams
- Excellent strategic awareness and instinct and commitment to milestone delivery
- Thorough current understanding of a broad range of regulatory issues relating to new product development in healthcare and/or OTC
- Outstanding communication and collaborative skills
- The ability to work flexibly and display resilience in a demanding environment
- Extremely well organised, driven by processes and with a keen attention to detail
- A good degree in a relevant scientific subject

Developing innovative new products is central to our future plans for healthcare at Boots. We're looking for someone to join our growing team as a project manager to help us manage the end to end development process for new consumer healthcare products.
What you'll do
With experience in consumer product development you'll play a key role in every stage of the new product development lifecycle. Managing the delivery of new healthcare products right from concept inception through to product on the shelf.
With outstanding organisational skills you'll manage and deliver multiple end-to-end new product programmes concurrently within agreed timescales and budgets.
It's an excellent opportunity for you to put forward your ideas for new products and processes and see them developed to the point where they reach our stores.

What you'll need
- Experience of end to end project management gained within the consumer product development arena
- A wide range of project management skills including developing critical paths, identifying risks and liaising with suppliers
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- The ability to communicate and resolve issues confidently with key decision makers at all levels of the business
- The capacity to work flexibly and productively in a team environment
- An understanding of current healthcare legislation, packaging design and wording would be an advantage but is not essential
