Nottingham is packed with incredible natural beauty - from Clumber Park, Wollaton Park, Newstead Abbey, Attenborough Nature Reserve, Rufford Park, and Rutland Water to the surrounding Peak District and Belvoir Vale. And, of course, not forgetting Sherwood Forest National Nature Reserve.

Nottingham has an enviable reputation for excellent shopping facilities - particularly for fashion. Nottingham's compact city centre means that, unlike London, Birmingham or Manchester, all shops are within walking distance. And with more than 300 places to eat and drink in the city centre alone, there are enough cafes, bars and restaurants to satisfy any appetite.

Back

Nottingham has a thriving scene which appeals to audiences as diverse as the city residents themselves. People of all ages, interests and backgrounds are all well-catered for and encouraged to discover what Nottingham culture has to offer, from galleries and art centres to museum and music venues.

Living in Nottingham

There are loads of great places to visit – and live – within Nottingham itself. In the city centre there’s the cosmopolitan and lively Lace Market area, which is a great place to find an apartment. Further out, there are attractive suburbs like West Bridgford, Sherwood, Mapperley, Wollaton and Beeston; and for those who like things even quieter, there are many lovely villages and small towns in the surrounding countryside

The Boots team are here to support you with information about relocating to Nottingham. But there are also many useful resources you can explore yourself, to understand the practicalities of moving to a new area. For local services, information on council tax bands (and to find schools), Nottingham City Council and Nottinghamshire County Council sites are a great place to start. Primary and secondary school results can be viewed at DfES and if you have young children, the City & County Childminding Association can assist. When you’re making that all-important decision on where to live, Rightmove and Upmystreet might prove invaluable.
