The only way to apply for the Retail Unlimited programme is online. This way we can ensure that all relevant details are safely captured on the system. We will email you to confirm receipt of your application.
In order to complete your application, you will need to register your details on the site. Once this is done, you will be sent a confirmation email with your password which will allow you to log back into the site at any time to update your details
The application process has been carefully designed to give you every opportunity to show us your best. The first stage is to capture your personal details and ask a series of questions that will help you and us to decide if the Boots Retail Unlimited programme matches your aims and expectations.
At the second stage, you’ll be asked to log back onto the application site and complete a behavioural questionnaire. This questionnaire will help us determine if your behaviours match those needed to succeed as Boots store manager.
The final stage of the process is the assessment centre where you’ll learn more about the programme and you’ll find out what its really like to be a Store Manager at Boots. To prepare for the assessment you will need to visit a Boots store to familiarise yourself with the Boots customer experience as there will be questions during the assessment about your visit.
If you are invited to an assessment centre you will be able to log back on to the application site and chose an assessment date that works for you. You will also be given details of our assessment preparation site that will give you all the information you need to prepare for the day.
Our programme develops graduates into world-class retail leaders, so you can imagine its very popular. Our assessment places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. So although, there’s no official closing date, those who apply early will be more likely to be offered a place.
If you miss out on this year’s opportunity you can register your interest and we will contact you when we start to recruit again.
We understand that you’ll be keen to find out if your application has been successful, so we will keep you informed of your progress all the way through the application process. To keep things simple, you’ll hear from us within 5 working days of completing the first stage of the application, and again within 5 working days of completing the behavioural questionnaire.
If you are invited to one of our assessment centres we will let you know the outcome from the assessment centre by 25th June.
As our programme is so popular, we handle a huge number of applications, so we are only able to offer feedback following the assessment centre stage.
Our assessment centres will be held at our Head Office in Nottingham, where you’ll get the chance to meet some of our people and current graduates. The assessment centres will be held on:
Dates to be confirmed
There will be a maximum of 10 candidates on each assessment centre and 15 assessment days.
We want to keep the application process simple and fair, to give everyone the same opportunity to apply. So there is one application process for both internal and external graduates. We’d encourage you to discuss this opportunity with your manager, but to apply you’ll need to go through the online application process.
The locations for the programme have been handpicked for the learning environment they’ll provide. You’ll have a choice within those locations, however we would not look to place you in your own store even if it is one of the programme stores.
You are encouraged to discuss your application with your manager and ask questions before and during your application stage so that you may make the most of this opportunity. However, they won’t be able to answer direct questions about the progress of your application. If you would like to check on your progress, then you can log back onto the application site with your password and check to see the status of your application.
