Essentially, you'll become an expert on their buying behaviours - what they want now, what they'll want in the future, what we can give them that our competitors can't. It's about listening, being razor sharp in your understanding, with a passion for exceeding their expectations.

More than anything, you'll have a thirst for knowledge. You'll enjoy gaining an in-depth insight into your category - what's new and exclusive, on a national scale - and know instinctively how to take it forward. You'll pride yourself on your ability to cut through, interpret and utilise complex data. All these things will help you to manage performance and deliver on your targets, time and time again.

It's useful to test yourself on our core requirements to see if you're the right fit for this programme. Answer the following honestly and the answers will soon become clear...

• Are you interested in what makes one product better than another?
• Would you go out of your way to deliver results in tough markets?
• Do you like building rapport and relationships with people?
• Do you have a positive and creative approach?

• Do you have the confidence to negotiate and secure a great deal?
• Have you got the charisma to engage and influence others?

Your qualifications and experience
We need graduates with a minimum Grade C in Maths and English at GCSE. You'll also need a 2:1 or above - that could be in any discipline. You won't need to have worked in retail before but you will need to show strong leadership qualities, even if it's through your extra-curricular activities. Strong numerical proficiency will be essential, and this will be tested as part of the application and assessment process.

You do need to have permanent residency status - we can't accept anyone on the programme who is on a time-limited VISA. So, if you're in the UK on a Tier 1 or Post Graduate Work Visa, you're not be eligible to apply for the programme.
