A number of exciting opportunities have arisen to join our established team of SAP Solution Architects at our Nottingham Head Office. We are looking for individuals who have proven SAP experience, ideally with a major retailer and who can work in a collaborative and fast paced culture to deliver solution designs across various areas of the business.
You will bring with you significant experience working within a multi-sourced environment. Ideally you will be familiar with designing solutions for projects, which comply with a predefined Enterprise Architecture Framework and deliver tangible business benefit and return on investment.
You will be expected to:
- Assess business ideas, scope projects and carry out feasibility analysis of systems based solutions
- Produce outline designs; perform high level technology selections and order of magnitude estimates
- Lead virtual design teams on programmes and larger projects, drawing resource internally and externally
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the underlying business processes behind the individual SAP technology solutions.
You will also need solid SAP experience in one or more of these key technical areas:
- ECC6, FI/CO
- BW, BW Accelerator, PI/XI, Netweaver
- MDM
- SAP end user tools, e.g. portal, SAP GUI, SAP Business Client
- EPOS / POSDM, Large-scale retail Business to Consumer
- Marketing, trading, product promotion systems
- F&R, Forecasting and replenishment
- Solution Manager, ARIS

We are looking for individuals who have proven infrastructure experience within a retail background and who can work in a collaborative and fast paced culture to deliver solution designs across various areas of the business.
You will bring with you significant infrastructure expertise in one or more key technology domains (see below), gained while working within a multi-sourced environment. Ideally you will be familiar with developing Architecture Standards and Patterns within a predefined Enterprise Architecture Framework, running product selection and evaluation processes and leading infrastructure design on major programmes to deliver tangible business benefit and return on investment.
You will be expected to:
- Manage the complexities of designing large scale, mission critical enterprise class systems across multiple data centers
- Understand the subtleties of deploying and operating infrastructure in a highly distributed estate of over 2500 Retail Stores
- You will have the aptitude to pick up new technologies and an ability to operate strategically whilst still being an authority on your individual projects
- You will have the leadership skills to influence your peers into following your strategies and designs without always falling back on rigid governance.
You will also need experience in one or more of these key technical areas:
- UNIX platforms (ideally AIX)
- Wintel platforms and VMWare
- Storage Management (ideally IBM DS and SVC)
- Enterprise Management (ideally Tivoli, Altaris)
- Networks (WAN, LAN, WiFi)

- You will be an Architect by trade, but with a strong Service Management leaning, ideally form an operational background with a strong understanding of ITIL
- You will develop the Architecture Roadmap for our Service Management and IT Operations infrastructure
- You will be the champion of Service and Operational requirements in project design, holding Architects and Designers to account to always design for operations
- Leading the development of operational Policies, Standards and Patterns, you will embed them into the project lifecycle
- You will have a collaborative nature, with the leadership skills to influence your peers into following your strategies and designs without always falling back on rigid governance
- Your technical background will be in service operations, with a good understanding of Helpdesk and Service Management tooling such as Remedy, Tivoli, Altaris, etc, and you will lead the technology vision for our Service teams.
